They sold us a faulty product as brand new, their customer service is awful, and, as a concerned father, the risk of death/injury is very real. There are plenty of CCTV products out there. The customer service rep was rude and unhelpful, even as my wife described how our son might have died because their product failed to work properly.

So, they obviously sold us a returned, defective item as brand-new and charged us full price. They informed us that our product had been an "open box" item, and had been returned before. My wife was furious, and contacted Lorex. He might have suffocated, and the Lorex system notified us of nothing. But then one night, our son Gabriel sat up for the first time, leaned forward, and landed headfirst in a pile of pillows. We didn't think much of it, just said, "yeah, we need to return this POS," and put it on the to-do list. My wife would then run up to me and say, "Didn't you hear him crying?" I had the monitor right in front of me! It was supposed to have a sensor, so that when noise or motion occurred within the field of view of a camera, it would turn on and notify us. We noticed problems with it from the start. Within one month, the cradle broke, and my wife & I had to return it. I bought my first Lorex product from Costco it was a little white handheld monitor with a cradle and two cameras. I don't usually post on forums, but Lorex almost caused the death of my five month old son, so I want other people out there to know that they should stay away from purchasing CCTV's from Lorex. However, ch 6 is still listed in privacy mode with the other camera plugged in. We also have product warehouses in Markham, Indiana and California. Lorex has head offices in Markham, Ontario, Canada and in Linthicum, Maryland, USA. When I display the channel, the screen explicitly states “privacy mode!” I can switch the Ethernet to another port, and the live feed is then displayed. Lorex products can be purchased in many retail stores and online, where we offer a vast array of individual products and security accessories, as well as pre-assembled security camera systems. The NVR 4K however does not have the ability to take it out of privacy mode. The camera works and is connected, as when I’m in the main menu -> settings -> Display -> camera setting -> Ch 6, I can see the live feed on my main monitor. Therefore, it has been stuck in privacy mode. The new app did not allow me to change it out of privacy mode as there is no toggle button in the new app. When I switched to the new app, channel 6 was left in privacy mode. Again, the old app had a function to put the cameras in privacy mode. The first thing I did was contact tech support.
This reply just downgraded them to one star. So, the developer replied to my initial review and suggested that it may be a connectivity issue and that I should context tech support. When I’m at home, I find it faster to walk over to the window. The alert is timely, but then I wait about 15 seconds for the video recording to load. Why 4 and not 5 stars? The thing I find the most frustrating is the recording load time. My parents have an Arlo device and they sometimes have 10 alerts in 60 seconds. NO SPAM: I really like that I typically get 1 alert per event. The Lorex Client 13 software is compatible with the following products. I’ve been tracking this for over 6 months, and the alerts are very consistent and reliable. When I drive up to our home, I consistently receive an alert before I park my car. ALERTS: Alerts arrive within ~5 seconds of the activity. SETUP: The App was able to connect quickly with my system, and I was up and running in under 5 minutes. However, with our increased level of home deliveries due to Covid, I started using the mobile app to see when a delivery was being made. We live in a low crime area, with little activity, so I had little need for the app.
I’ve had my Lorex wired system (LHA4108) for over 2 years, and it has worked reliably.
